Shaera
The dusty riverbed was soaked sundry, a mouse ran through the brush right up to my paw blinded by the sand. Snatching it with her jaw, Shaera swallowed it with a crunch. Tasty, but very dry. She'd be thankful for the little bite, but there was very little food and she needed more.. Ok, maybe she was a little thankful. At least it gave her some meat and juices. Laying in the sand, Shaera saved her energy.

The faithful adviser laid at peace atop the sand coated terrain that neighbored her alpha. She inhaled sharply as the brutal sand seemed to burn her lungs and nostrils within every breath. Jaysiri blinked her eyelids open, sand had created almost a crust that contoured her cheek tufts, snout, and ear rims. Shaking her skull gently, the adviser had rid of the dry substance along with the usual grim that resided within her cloak. The gold and goldenrod she-wolf arouse her structure to meet a seated position as her golden optics surveyed the surrounding territory. Nothing. Nothing but sand. Inhaling another sharp breath, Jay only flicked her thickly tail before lowering her chest to greet the dry, warm sand.

The dark wolf groaned softly and rolled across the crispy sand. He got up and shook his massive pelt. Blade looked across the horizon. Nothing.... Nothing but thousands of miles of sand. He sighed softly his eye lids grew heavy and he plopped on the dry sand.

Laura
Laura laid on the ground uncomfortably shifting often against the grainy sand.'I hate this' She thought. She glanced over her wolves seeing they were all on the ground uncomfortable also.' I'm not being thoughtful aren't I' She stood up shaking her fur making an effort to get all sand out her fur and searched the ground in hope of prey for the pack.

Aven
The old wolf grumbled annoyed as she made her way out of the shadow of a boulder into the blazing sun, her thin pelt fluffed up in mild anger. She hated this stupid weather. It was always too hot and there was never enough water or food. Even though her bones ached in cold weather, she'd rather have a snow covered landscape with plenty of water and scarce food than this hot nightmare that bore nothing. She limped over to a small flat rock, carefully laying down onto the smooth surface before turning to her other pack mates. " Has anyone seen any clouds recently? It feels like it's been forever since it's rained. "

The adviser released a subtle moan that almost seemed a light, guttered snarl. Her massive ears flickered among the dry, shriveled atmosphere as a voice disturbed the tranquil silence. "Has anyone seen any clouds recently? It feels like it's been forever since it's rained." Aven inquired. Lifting her thick neck to face her packmate with glaring optics, Jaysiri replied in an emotionless, almost irritable tone, however it was not directly aimed at the elder. "Nothing but clear skies and oceans of sand" as she spoke, her fluffy tail appeared to cuddle itself aside her right haunch, for she was residing on her left. With Jaysiri's forepaws crossed in front of her chest, the she-wolf peered back at Aven with her lips compressed another - an unidentifiable emotion portrayed along her expression. Jay's ears lowered themselves.

Shaera After Shaera's short rest, she climbed the small hill overlooking the pack. A swift movement caught her eye as Shaera sprinted and swiftly caught the large skinny hare. Dust burned her eyes as the storm hits her filthy pelt. Seeing another blur by the wind, Shaera dropped the priceless pray and swiped at a rolling brush. Stifling a growl, Shaera turned and picked the dead sheet of bones. Pacing towards the small pack that she found all wandering alone, with nowhere to go. Except to help each other survive. Shaera dropped the rabbit and started to peel away the pelt as she divided the precious food into spreads of bones and meaty-tissue. Thinking back on the pack, and how a week went by from meeting these Extrodanary wolves... Shaera sighed a happy sigh as she finished the last pieces of the hare for her new-founded pack. SORRELSorrel's ears flattened at the sight of the meager meal. His stomach ached for more. Any longer in this drought and I'll gnaw my own leg off, he thought. He relaxed on his haunches, bare and bony as they were. As he looked down miserably at the hare's remains, his burrow furrowed and forehead crinkled. "We need a better plan," he murmured in barely more than a whisper, "we can't keep doing this." He inhaled long and slow and sighed very loud and somewhat dramatically.

Shaera Listing to Sorrel explain the situation. 'We need a better plan,... we can't keep doing this.' Shaera nodded, and added. "I was just going to suggest that," She says with a raspy voice. The wind blowing in her face. "why not we search for a water source. Maybe in an underground cave, in the mountain? Maybe, there's a reason why the water is not coming...Hmm" Shaera looks a bit thoughtful, and continued. "Any Ideas?" She listens to the wind as she waits for her pack to respond to her question. The golden lass' ears rouse once more to the sudden speaking of the alpha. Suggesting to move to a sturdier territory with a... water resource. Jaysiri gulped sharply toward the thought. She hadn't had almost any form of liquid in the past three days. Other than jawfuls of dusty sand and dried marrow from decayed bones along with little blood. "I'd agree." She finally sputtered, lifting her physique and paced toward Sorrel and Shaera. Jay's optics lingered over toward the young alphaess, her brow tapering somewhat. "However, I do advise we leave when the winds calm themselves. If we were to move now, someone is bound to get lost." The adviser spoke, the last few words were spoke lower than anticipated.

Aven Perking her ears at the proposal of moving on and finding water, Aven hauled herself back to her feet. She wobbled a bit in the harsh winds that were passing over the pack but held steady when she addressed her pack mates. " No need to quiet down, Jaysiri. I can barely hear your mumbling over the sound of this bloody wind. " she flicked her ear in mild annoyance. " I do wish we could leave as soon as possible though, I'm too old- I don't have quite the stamina you young ones have." she hobbled over to Shaera, grumbling under her breath about how a couple of years ago she'd be zipping around like a hyper active rabbit. She looked Shaera in the eye, mild worry streaking trough her faded blue irises. " I'm not sure everyone will make it if we wait too long, some of us barely have enough meat on our bones to walk." she breathed out, squinting her eyes to avoid getting rough sand into them, her pelt already looking like she had rolled around in the sand.

Shaera "I agree, after we eat. We should go today. If the wind stops.." As if the sky listened, Shaera looked up. And saw a bit of blue sky forming. "Well, that was fast, but it's still windy..." Shaera says with raspy a voice. Sitting down, she'd scratch her itch behind her ear. But it would make it worse. She passes the bits of food from the scrawny hare to her packmates, sitting down. Not wanting to eat, and wanting the pack to eat first. Shaera waits till the storm passes. Notes: Wonder what will come up in the story? AvenAven nodded, bowing her head slightly at Shaera before padding away with a small piece of meat from the hare towards a rock where she placed the piece of meat- protecting it a little from the wind- before eating it. Her stomach still growled, demanding more to eat than a piece of a scrawny rabbit. Aven ignored it, instead opting to lay down again, resting before they went on the hike towards the mountains. "better be some good food up there," she mumbled under her breath " maybe a deer we could chase down?" The old wolf dozed off, dreaming of good food and fresh water.

SORRELSorrel begrudgingly ate the scraps of meat rationed. "Maybe a mountain goat. Surely something else has died in this place," he paused, awkwardly, before sneezing a cloud of dust. A loud sneeze. He shook his hackles and waited a few more moments for the dust and sand to get out of his sinuses. "With this weather and all this lack of water, there ought'a be some dried up old fawn that didn't make it. If the fates be good to us, even a bigger animal. They take more food to keep alive. I imagine they've got as little luck as we do." He sneezed again.
